Production Blog: Finding the Right Location
Today I began the production of my music video. This started by finding an environment that suited the style my music video was going to have. The song I chose was Lazy Song by Bruno Mars. This song is calm and has a warm tone. This should be reflected in the environment and surroundings. In the heart of creativity and rhythm, I embarked on an exciting journey to bring Bruno Mars' laid-back anthem, 'The Lazy Song,' to life in a vibrant and visually captivating music video. So I chose to set my first scene in my bedroom. I picked my room because for my character it is his safe space and a place where he feels warm, comfy, and safe. The next scene features my character's living room. Where he is watching football on his day off. He is choosing to do that because he loves football and it gives him a sense of purpose. For the next scene, I chose to use Fort Lauderdale Beach. I chose this beach because it is a very clean and calm beach and fits the theme of being warm and cozy like the other scenes. The next scene shows the protagonist in the car driving to the mall. I chose to film this scene in my car because of its warm interior. The next scene cuts to the protagonist picking an outfit at the mall. I picked this because it shows how happy the protagonist became when buying a new outfit. Then in the next scene, it shows the protagonist trying on the outfit and finding out that the outfit is a perfect fit. Then during the next scene, we are introduced to a familiar environment. It is the protagonist sitting on the same seat that he was on before but instead of watching football, he is watching a movie. Then the last scene shows the protagonist revisiting the bed he was on earlier and going to bed which fades out symbolizing that his day is over.
