Planning: Title Design

Image
Hey blog! Today we are starting the planning process of our Final Task!  The font we chose to use are Old Typewriter and Cold Night for Alligators from the website Dafont.com. We wanted to go for a creepy vibe so we chose these two fonts because they succumbed our expectations. Old Typewriter had a very eerie look to it which went with the theme we are trying to achieve. We loved the old look to it because modern typewriting fonts look too clean so we wanted more of a messy look. Our second font was Cold Night for Alligators, despite the interesting name, it had a perfect look to it.  The background of the title design is black and the words are bright red. We used a font that looks like dripping blood, hence the red color. The font size is 170 and is in all caps so it appeared to be really big on the screen. We wanted to enhance the feeling of horror and let the audience know right away that this is a horror film.  The title of out film is Wake Up. We have had thi...

Title Research: Watch the Titles

Image
Hi y'all! It is Aidan again reviewing another website that will help my group and I film our final task! The website that will help us is: Watch the Titles. When we first open the website we are introduced with videos of actors/actresses that could give us tips for filming and putting our film together. More than I explored I noticed that it was very hard to find genres that we wanted to research. There were student films, video games, TV shows, etc; But the layout and the concept of the website confused me. I wasn't that sure of what the purpose was. But after looking through the website a little more I did find some films that I recognized but there weren't that many options to watch from. I do believe that this website can be helpful for our final task but I'm not positive we may use it a lot. It was very fun comparing and researching the websites Art of the Title and Watch the Titles! Stay tuned for the other title researches!

Title Research: Art of the Title

Image
Hey y'all! Today I am going to talk about the website: Art of the Title. This website is going to help my group and I's final task by researching some movies' opening sequences. This website will guarantee that I would be exposed to different opening sequences. This website has almost every movie you can think of. I love how there is so many movie opening sequences to watch instead of me scrambling to find one from different platforms. It is super easy just searching up a movie and the opening sequence would immediately come up. They also offer recommendations for opening sequences that are top rated. They also give you other movies when you search the movie you want that correlates with the same genre. I can't wait to start researching opening sequences with the help of Art of the Title! Bye guys!

What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?    The images prioritized in the opening sequence all have the same effect as they are extreme close ups of different insects. These include frogs, locusts, flies, and blood in which the producer built his title sequence upon.  3. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?   From the beginning, the images give off a chilling feeling. The blood color of the titles seem to enhance this feeling. The audience expects this movie to send a horrifying message, solely based on the opening sequence. The back...
